Hopkins had the same look on his face as Jeff Lacy and Peter Manfredo, when they stared into the eyes of Joe Calzaghe.
Calzaghe still looks to be a bit affected by the weight limit, he wasn't soft or anything... I think he had serious problems getting down to 168, he looks like a bit drained even at LHW! But let's wait for the pics!
Lacy and Kessler looked like monsters compared to Calzaghe but you boxing with your fists not with you six pack.....
I think he has tons of that. We'll see how much he has after Bernard lands a straight right counter, that could go a long way in setting the tone for the fight. If he knows Bernard can't hurt him, he's gonna bring it.
Both looked good. Hopkins looked bigger, especially his shoulders, but that doesn't always mean much.
Just missed it so I'll have to catch the Youtube tomorrow. But this is sounding more and more like the Hatton-PBF build-up.
Hopkins never uttered a word during the staredown. Calzaghe did however. Only when they split did Hopkins say words. Hopkins looks in some shape a bit taller as well.
Hopkins did.......he was pointing out something about Joe's stomach area.......Kessler was taller, Veit was taller, Woodhall was taller.....doesnt mean a great deal.....I think B-Hop is gonna be on form
Just saw it at yahoo, I change my pick. I originally pick Calzaghe but recently swayed by Roach & Bhops interviews. Now I'm Picking Bhop By KO!!! Bhop's built like a Rock. I see KO when they went side by side. Calzaghe's built for speed but he can't hurt Bhop!!!
I just don't see how Bernard can beat Joe when he couldn't beat Taylor. Joe takes a better punch and delivers at a higher volume. Joe's always performed his best when the fights have had the most hype. Bernard's only game plan will probably be to slow it down and make it dirty, with lots of wrestling, elbows, and hip punches. Don't see any of that slowing Calslappy down any.
Both Lacy and Kessler looked like a monster especially next to Joe... The bigger they are the easier to hit, it's that simple.
