Bernard Hopkins Vs Andre Ward: At SMW

Nobody at light heavy can offer a payday equal to what Ward would make facing Froch or Chazez Jr. It's probably why Ward wants to stay at super middle.

While it's true he has nothing really left to prove at 168lbs having clearly shown his superiority, Ward seems to be looking for a big payday rather than improve his legacy which going to light heavy would clearly do.

 

This certainly wouldn't be a fight for the purist and would probably be the sole contender for worst fight of the year, who wins well a draw wouldn't be out of the question. Ward vs Hopkins II anyone.

 

Yeah I'm with you on this one. It's a fight I would enjoy. Though I know it would bore the pants of the casuals.

I like tactical battles and would be very interested in seeing how each adjusts to their opponent as the fight goes on. Ward has shown excellent adaptability and ring intelligence but against Hopkins he'd be going up against a whole new level of craftiness and skill.

 

i'm not too sure about Hopkins being strong at 168. at his age, cutting the weight could really tell.

but this fight would be a stinker in the worst way. it would be nothing but wrestling. Ward being the much fresher fighter, would take this by wide decision. Hopkins would have a few moments here and there, but nothing more than that.

 

I like Bernard but Ward would probably outbox him quite clearly

 

i always thought ward fought at a pace that would favour hopkins' style. hee would most likely change that if they fought though, I'm sure he would know that going in. I'd love to see these two fight. i know a lot of people would find it boring, but two cerebral fighters would make for an interesting fight in my eyes.

 

I ain't a casual as I like boxing skills as opposed to just another KO, but this is a fight where both boxers cancel each other out and I'm a big fan of Ward. Like I say it wouldn't be a pretty fight to watch with lots of holding and clinching on the inside.
