No way a rematch would be as lopsided as the first fight.Tarver was just weak that night.Hopkins isn't THAT much better than tarver to dominate him like that. This fight must happen in 2012,it's a logical fight in the crusierweight division.
I pick tarver in a rematch. He hasn't displayed the kind of power that he showed against green in years.
Tarver has no chance. Once Hopkins takes away Tarver's left (which he will easily), it's over. He's the master at controlling distance and once Tarver winds up that left, Hopkins will be either inside or way outside. That's why Hopkins is a true ATG.
He'll have to be VERY diminished to lose to Tarver. Besides, Hopkins will be beating Tarver with skill and not relying much on reflexes/speed, etc. Just his ability to control the distance with his footwork would win him the fight. And you add in his in-fighting and lead right hands and it's a mismatch.
Hopkins v. Tarver is one of my favorite fights of all time - it should be taught in schools on how to beat an elite southpaw. Each detail, like the way Hopkins steps on his foot to throw his lead right and steps off to make the punch look like it rocked Tarver, is a thing of beauty. Tarver doesn't even have a puncher's chance in a rematch.
hopkins would win again in similar fashion. hopkins is a bad much up for tarver period. hopkins is not a danny green, tarver would beat a danny green style fighter 100x out of 100. remember hopkins was thinking about fighting green to do the same thing tarver did to him.tarver should clean out the division and hopkins needs to get passed dawson and clean out his division. i dont even think either fighter his on the others radar either. but hopkins looks better when tarver goes out and do what he does.
Worthless fight, Bhop already dominated him. Plus Bhop would do the same thing to Tarver. Best Tarver goes another route and makes his own legacy if he keeps fighting.
Hopkins beats Dawson who beat Tarver twice and he has nothing else to do with Tarver in the CWs. In case Bernard loses to Dawson then either Tarver comes down to fight him or defends his title against him if Bernard doesn't call it a day.
