Better win than Cloud? IDK about that...

I like Tavoris but let's face it...unless he can knock you out (meaning you have a great chin and/or fair-to-good defense and quick reflexes), he is no Rubik's cube.

    Slow and easy to outbox.

Beibut is normally a little better h2h than Cloud, whose only greater asset is his pop.

Tonight was a...not quite optimal Shumenov. He seemed a little starstruck by Hopkins and overwhelmed by the moment. He is a volume guy by trade and yet his output was anemic from the opening minute.

Calzaghe was knocked down and barely landed a punch in the entire fight. You are delusional.

He's knocking off the weakest titleholders, and he also took 2 shots at the strongest at the time (Dawson). He's up against Stevenson next so that leaves only Kovalev. Your argument is unfounded and without merit.

Shumenov isn't exactly a speed demon, though. He's a more technical fighter, but not necessarily better than Tavoris.

Actually, that would be a fun match, now that I think about it...:bbb

Hopkins has stated that after Shumenov that Stevenson would be his next opponent on his march to unification.
I'd imagine that would be a huge financially rewarding bout in Canada.
I expect that BHOP will try to get this done ASAP since he is racing against the clock.

People who are saying Kovalev or Stevenson are just too strong or punch too hard just don't comprehend that Hopkins is negating all of that.

    True this.

Interestingly, the idiot here was the sage in the recent Danny Garcia bout, scoring it a draw, while his two colleagues scored for Danny.

Whatever, but you are one hell of a play by play man. Your descriptions of the boxing action are clear, crisp and exciting to read. You make me feel like I'm ringside. Thanks for your efforts to bring boxing action to all of us who don't have access to the actual video broadcasts. Much respect.

Where is Calzaghe? Can he still fight? How is 43 prime for any fighter including Bernard? Calzaghe chose to fight him then, and in many people's eye still lost the fight.

Fair point.... It's a good win for BHOP, just not the masterclass some are making it out to be. Shumenov looked pretty crap tonight, I'll take your word that he's better than he looked tonight. Just going on how he looked tonight I wouldn't favor him against anybody in the top 20....

    No.

Raw athletic talent with no refinement, still not impressed and probably never will be.
