and you'll see Shumenov throw fake punches, miss on purpose.

Many of Shumenov's punches were weak slaps to Hopkins' waist, cause Shumenove didn't want to hit Hopkins solid.

After all, Shumenov is a Golden Boy Promotions, Inc. fighter, and Hopkins is President of Golden Boy Promotions-East (division).

Hopkins is on the quest of being the oldest word champion, and his company (GBP) has over $100 million in revenue, so it's easy to bribe anyone.

Shumenov is already wealthier that almost if not any pro boxer. I have a hard time thinking a guy who trains himself, and fights for fun/pride threw a fight for business reasons.

It's interesting to note that Hopkins' last three opponents all share another thing in common apart from being Campillo's sloppy seconds used and abused bitches - they'd all been pretty inactive before fighting him.

Cloud hadn't fought in 13 months (Don King is a piece of **** for keeping him so inactive for much of his career).

Murat hadn't fought in 16 months.

And Shumenov had only fought once in over 22 months - which was a three round blowout.

Sometimes a long rest can do the world of good for fighters if they've had a really busy schedule and been through a series of gruelling and demanding fights, but Murat's only outing in the past two years had been against a 25-12 journeyman who'd lost 7- of his last 9 fights and the two wins came against fighters with records 1-5-0 and 7-10-1.

Cloud's only other outing in the previous 21 months was a schooling at the hands of Campillo.

Shumenov's previous opponent was undefeated in 23 (Kovacs) but he was very poor in reality and there were no recognizable names on his record at all. Shumenov was basically averaging a fight a year by then too and his previous three opponents prior to facing Kovacs were pretty low calibre as well: A shot William Joppy, Danny Santiago, and Enrique Ornelas who was probably the best of them.

Thing that seemed most fishy to me was that shumenov kept his left low the whole fight... Even after being tagged w/ the right over top of it 50x... I thought he would learn maybe after the first 2 or 3... It was almost like he wanted to get hit lol.

    This.

Shumenov and his family are rich.

He only fights for glory, apparently, so I doubt that even a doubling of his purse would be enough. Besides, if you think Hopkins bribed his way to victory over Shumenov then you probably feel the same way about each of his relevant wins of late.

fixed my ass. it's really simple. bhop is a master at controlling distance. shumenov fights on the front foot and that was what lead to his demise. the same will happen to kovalev.

this is the science part of boxing.

it didn't look shady to me when they fought. do you really believe Shuminov has the acting skills to pull it off? i don't. you would have seen it clearly if that was the case. Hopkins was just too crafty for him.

Shumenov was definitely another stiff in a long line of Iranian, Kazakh and Egyptian stiffs Bernard has been fighting the last few years. Hopefully the public will be treated to his retirement party on Nov. 8th.

But more importantly, why do you put "threw the fight" in quotes?
