I wouldn't pick either to beat Bob, but I completely understand someone who would and let's be real

Saying they have no chance is delusional

Foster would miss more than he landed though, even Winky Wright couldn`t land many jabs on B-hop and that was one of Foster`s key weapons, B-hop would be the best defensive fighter Foster ever fought.

B-hop used footwork to set up his lead rights like he did v Calzaghe, I feel he would tag Foster with his right hand a lot, he was smarter offensively than anyone Foster ever fought at 175, he might have too much in his locker in a pretty careful negative fight.

Hopkins never hears the bell in a 15 round fight, Bernard is not in his class at 175 pounds

Yes true. I guess where you might be heading too is that we could take an earlier peakish version of Hopkins and have him simply come in at a natural weight with no cutting. He was definitely past his best higher up even tho he whupped Tarver and Pavlik. I'd still have to favor bob but Hopkins would certainly give a good account of himself at the least imo.

Hopkins was old at 175. He still did well all things considered, but you gotta favor Foster at 175.

Did you see his two fights with Taylor? Very close fights, a case can be made that Hopkins won both. He was having trouble making 160 and Taylor looked like he had a solid future... why not give it to the young undefeated fighter.

Are you suggesting Hopkins didn't have trouble with him? I don't see how mentioning that the fights were close is terribly relevant.

This is off topic, but it just struck me how underrated Terrell seems to be. The guy probably had one of the most solid runs of any contender who never quite made the grade, and his jab was really good. I reckon he could give quite a few mor fancied fighters a run for their money. It's a bit unfair that he seems to be almost exclusively remembered for his fight against probably the best version of Ali we ever saw. Smack in his prime and supremely motivated to humiliate and crush Terrell.

I agree with what seems to be the consensus here. Foster had that reach and whiplash jab with brutal power lurking just behind it... Seeing what Hopkins did to a quite similar fighter in Tarver (but not as great, of course), I wouldn't completely rule him out, though. A live underdog.
