Canelo regularly prepares at high altitude and if he'd been in the ring instead of total mediocrity Mercado, he'd have stopped Hopkins in emphatic fashion. Canelo doesn't have judges. When he beat GGG, he beat GGG with Abel Sanchez's judges and Team GGG's referee. GGG stacked the deck against Canelo and Canelo still won. Even Sanchez said after the fight that he can't complain about the decision when he hand picked the judges and the ref lol.

Bad style match up for Canelo. Canelo looks good vs guys that come to him like Angulo and GGG, give him a mover like Lara or Trout and he struggles. Hopkins wins a comfortable decision. Canelo is good enough not to be totally schooled and beat up and stopped late like Tito or Johnson but he isn't able to cut the ring off effectively enough to win enough rounds to win.

Hopkins is no Floyd, Floyd had influence and ridiculous popularity to avoid getting shafted by the judges against Canelo, and despite this one judge still gave it a draw, Hopkins loses a Controversial decision. You cant beat Canelo through UD unless you yourself are an A side Diva.
