Bernard Hopkins vs. Chad Dawson & undercard RBR

Dude if Dawson moved forward before BHOP jumped on his back it was only very slightly, not enough for BHOP to be where he was on top of Chad... BHOP jumped on him and Chad shed him off, like many other fighters have done in the past. Not the best thing to do, but definitely not anything new. Only difference now is the fight ended after it happened bcuz BHOP didn't continue..

 

nope but we see the knee and elbow on the neck and B hop grabing for the body witch is illegal

 

fans dont understand logic so we will see if they do

 

look you can fight for the boxers you like but wrong is wrong you cant jump on a guys back in boxing and you get hurt and cry foul it dont work that way

 

Another climbdown from you. Before, it was a shoulder charge with no forward motion, now you admit to forward motion.
The thing is, Bernard's forward motion is legitimate. It was his momentum from his punch carrying him forward.
Dawson's forward motion, started from a crouching position, is exactly what a rugby tackle looks like. It is not a legitimate boxing move. It doesn't matter that his motion hadn't had a big range until contact. The energy is applied at the beginning of the motion.

 

Only time I said shoulder charge was mocking you.. IMO there was minimal forward motion, nowhere near enough to put BHOP where he was on Chad's back. Post me ANY gif of a top tier fighter throwing his leg up like BHOP's was while throwing a punch proving it was legitimate forward motion from a punch. Dawson shed him off, like many fighters have before.. Did you see Cotto/Clottey? Were you up in arms when it happened in that bout?

 

I don't actually particularly like Bernard Hopkins. I appreciate his recent accomplishments, even though I never rated Pascal too highly.

I was very neutral about this fight. Not even. Indifferent. But I have to speak for justice and logic. That's the only thing I care about.

 

It was Chad's stance, not his forward motion, that put Bernard on Chad's back. Had Chad stayed up straight, Bernard's momentum would have carried him into Chad in a way that happens 200 times every match.
But Dawson turned his defensive duck into a counter-attacking takedown when he started applying forward motion from a ducking position. It's a great move, if they were in a MMA fight or a street brawl. But it's an illegal move in boxing.

Did you watch the Cotto/Clottey bout? What were you're reactions to that 'takedown' if you were on ESB at the time? :huh

At 1:17 if you don't recall... I don't believe the ref did anything to Cotto about that and it was far more blatant than this IMO...
