Bernard Hopkins vs. Chris Eubank

I agree! I am a huge Philly/Hopkins phan...but Eubank gets sold short on here! I lean towards a 115-113 maybe 116-112 type Hop win...but don't see the blowout many are calling for!

 

This wouldn't be an easy for Hopkins. Eubank had the speed and boxing ability that usually caused Hopkins problems (who looked his best aggressive opponents). I do think Hopkins will eventually adjust to Eubank because he is the better boxer, although he would be in a fight.

 

A '92 Hopkins, '98-'99 Hopkins or an '05 Hopkins? Or an '01 Hopkins? '03 Hopkins? '96 Hopkins?

 

it was very hard for anyone to look good against eubank in his prime. he was ONe of the most awkward boxers ive ever seen. I would say a very close decision for hopkins.

 

Graham wouldn't engage Eubank because he had his eyes on the world title. Eubank fully understood, but was prepared to fight Graham.

It would've been idiotic to go to Italy to fight Kalambay, who had already been knocked out and had losses on his record yet as we know was by far one of the best defensively skilled and sharp countering fighters out there. Eubank never once mentioned his name, I think the only time he saw him was flat on his back against Nunn, probably.

 

Well, Hopkins was a lot taller than Eubank and a lot more upright, walked opponents down a lot in the 90s. I see Eubank being ring general, going to the body a lot and getting out of range. But I see Hopkins catching up with him and getting in later, having taken a few rounds to get used to the unique Eubank.

Eubank against Benn and Watson at the middle limit was quicker, more mobile and had better usage of angles than the latter, boring Eubank. He threw himself into right hands and combinations! I think there'd be some nasty exchanges in a Eubank-Hopkins fantasy, a younger Hopkins.

Hopkins would probably take a close decision.
