Well that's the thing Hopkins nearly has the same dimensions as Spinks who could completely control Qawi from range. Hopkins in skillset is outright better than Spinks, not as physical at 175 but more skilled

Yes Qawi's reach isn't that bad (still a disadvantage) but that's counteracted by the fact he has to punch so far up, which is a longer arc, Hopkins has to punch at shoulder height, which is a shorter distance.

Qawi is a great infighter granted but BHOPs is a master of forcing you to fight at his range and spoiling, he'd grab on for dear life whenever Qawi gets inside.

Yes BHOPs has only been at LHW since 06 but he still is arguably more proven than Qawi at the weight

 

PowerPuncher surely doesn't know that Hopkins is 5'10" in reality while Spinks was 6'1".

B.S - a 40+ years old B-hop floored at 175 top fighters with great chins like Tarver, Calzaghe and Pscal. Hopkins fights a cautious dirty fight, grabs a lot on the inside and wins an ugly UD. Qawi is too short and predictable to be able to beat Hopkins
