Very few. Of course, you'll have arm chair QB's saying how they knew Hops would win. But to this day, it's probably his greatest win.
****, I knew he was gonna win. I put my money on B-Hop and recorded the fight on an eight track tape. Still got it. B-Hop was 36 and didn't have any loss of skill in him. He was peaking and when he trashed that flag, I knew he meant business, plus I knew he had better skills than Tito and no fear.:bbb. Tito was moving up but B-Hop was established and solid.:bbb
Less then that even, it's amazing how people now are all like 'I picked Hopkins back then :yep' yeah sure you did
My favorite BHop clinic. Steady and thorough breakdown on all technical levels of a fighter who was supposed to clean up the middleweight division.
Roy Jones told Tito to stay away from Hopkins... But yeah, I was still very shocked to see Hopkins dominate him like that.
Watched it live, have it on VHS somewhere. The PPV was dreadful (I think Forrest was on the undercard....vs Frank?) But the whole time everyone was chanting Tito and pretty much everyone thought they were just gonna see another Tito KO and everyone would party. I still remember JayZ grabbing and shaking his buddy in disbelief when Tito got dropped. It was an amazing moment. One of the first huge upsets I watched live.
You know what, At that time i did not have a clue about who Hopkins was. I remember reading the newspaper article about the fight and i saw something in Bhop and i thought to myself, that guy looks dangerous I did predict Winky was gonna beat tito
I don't think that was hops best win. Tito isn't and wasn't on his level, jones' level and De la Hoya's level. Even Winky wright clowned him. To say that is hops best win is insulting to hops
