I scored the fight for Hopkins, 7-5 rounds, 115-112 points, giving Murat rounds 1, 2, 3, 6, and 9, and factoring in the 1 point deduction to Murat. I actually found this fight to be surprisingly entertaining for a Hopkins fight, as for whatever reason, Hopkins was willing to take more chances than he usually does. Hopkins won his first rounds in rounds 4-5, by consistently beating Murat to the punch and then quickly holding Murat to prevent counterattacks, but Hopkins really didn't do much holding after those rounds. His two most decisive rounds were in rounds 7-8, he was busier, landed jabs and combinations, and some heavy shots, and had Murat in some trouble. I thought Murat stole Round 9 with his late flurries with Hopkins stuck in the corner, Murat connected with 4-5 good shots late to take that round. Rounds 10-11 were close and competitive, but I thought Hopkins edged them. Hopkins won Round 12 convincingly late with some big punches in the final minute. Of course Hopkins had the edge throughout with his ring generalship and defense, and maybe these two factors made the official cards 2-3 rounds wider than they should have been.

On a side note, Rosado really looked like the bigger guy. gained 15lbs from the weigh in. In the GGG fight didn't he only gain like 4lbs? Rosado walked Quillin down like he was another junior middleweight.

That was one of the most entertaining Hopkins fights ever. Murat was very scrappy, tough, and so dirty. B Hop was clever, funny, gritty and game. He kept a faster pace than typical for him, and did not move very much at all. Perhaps his legs are finally starting to go, but it made for a much more interesting view. Every time I think I can't be more amazed by a 48-year-old, he amazes me yet again.
