Bernard controls the early rounds with his craftiness and range, but Hagler gradually works his way in and roughs Hopkins up. I like Hagler by late stoppage, too.

I must be one of the biggest Bernard Hopkins fans on the planet, I would shine his boots on request.

    Hagler wins

See I'm a big Nard fan too.

The thing with Hagler is, one of the things that made him so potent was his ability to take away a jab and use that to get his shots off. If you threw the jab he's going to counter of it; if you start getting gunshy with it hes going to get in range. It was a great tool for him.

But the thing with Hopkins is, he could work perfectly well without his jab, and would have the tactical awareness to notice this. So I can see him turning Haglers strength to a weakness there, by feinting the jabs and getting in with his sneak right leads, and off on an angle again, effectivly stunting a lot of Haglers offensive oppertunities.

However, Haglers going to bring it to an intensity Hopkins has never dealt with. And obviously his all-round game isnt going to allow him to be foiled by a simple feinted jab every time.

So basically I see it either way, Hagler forcing the fight and throwing a lot but Hopkins doing the more effective blows.

Id bet on Hopkins (cause he'd quite rightly be the underdog), but its a 50-50 fight IMO

Nah, its a very even fight IMO. Theres a few variables though that could probably swing it more in Haglers favour.

lol at hagler stopping hopkins, he wasn't even close to stopping litlle guys like leonard and Duran. No one stops Hopkins, especially at 160. B-hop was a little more skilled in my opinion , he most likely would win a close decision.
