If Hopkins landed at will like he did against Johnson, I think he would stop Hagler too. Hagler never took a beating like Johnson did in that fight.

Wow. Equating Glen Johnson with Hagler is just a proclamation of ignorance.

I don't think Hopkins would land as easily on Hagler as he did on Johnson. But in terms of chins, Johnson is ABSOLUTELY on Hagler's level and quite possibly better. Johnson's chin was tested at higher weights, unlike Hagler's. And Johnson at over 40 years old was still facing elite competition and big punchers.

Yes it is !! Love Johnson, but come on !! Lots of losses and hgaler was a guy who was never even floored! And Hopkins, who isn`t a big banger will stop him ???

I wouldn't expect Hopkins to stop him. But since we're talking chins here, Johnson was never legitimately floored either, and Johnson fought everybody. Hagler retired at 32, while Johnson fought big punchers at 168 and 175 while over 40 years old.

This fight is one of the best fantasy match-ups in history.

    Hopkins-Hagler
    Duran-Whitaker

    Yum!

Hopkins is way overrated for his top ceiling ability. Remember this is the guy Mercado bounced around like a basketball and Jones completely outclassed. Calzaghe outworked him also when both were in their twilight years.

Hagler, prime for prime, crowds, pressures, delivers and offers no cheap stalls or exits like Hopkins prefers. If anyone is getting stopped it's Hopkins.

This is one of my all time favorite hypothetical matchups. These 2 are undoubtedly top 5 Middleweights of all time and I think it'd be a very rough, "too close to call" type of match.

i think it all depends on how aggressive Hagler would be, especially early on. I watched a lot of his fights in the 80's and the guy was a great all around fighter but Hopkins has a tendency at making any fighter he faces look awful. Whoever landed the cleaner shots would probably take the split decision. I don't see either guy getting knocked out in their prime, that's crazy.

    I'd call it a 50/50 fight.

what i thought when i read that ****

Hopkins is d guy whom saved himself from a KO loss vs Roy Jones in their rematch due 2 faking a low blow.
This is d (kind of) stuff that should b considered when considering him.
How high is Hopkins being allowed 2 pull his (made 4 order, special limited edition) trunks?
