Which he did against Toney perhaps, but not often before (not vs. Tate).
And Hopkins had to make in the last few years at Middleweight even more weight, he looked mostly like a corpse during the weight in, he rehydrated about 5 kilos (so was actual a light-heavyweight in the ring). Therefore he was only able to box 5 - 6 rounds (vs. Taylor but also Allen).

Yes, Hopkins clearly had problems with the weight during the end of his MW career, but in his prime he showed many times that he could go 12 at a fast pace. Nunn never did. He took a lot of time off vs Barkley and it nearly cost him the fight. He also took rounds off against Starling, but Starling was just too outmatched physically to really push him. And he clearly slowed down against Toney in the rounds before the KO.

And, yes, Curry nearly took him 10, but he was too physically outmatched to push the pace.

Barkley and Toney was the only two world class MWs to take Nunn past 10, and Nunn struggled against both.

I don’t know if that green middle weight version of Jones was better than Nunn at his pinnacle but still a fair point.

But there are only two rounds after 10 supposed, so this concern is a bit ludicrious (almost like to claim he strugled after 11 rounds). Mainly he was at this point already comfortable leading.
Against Toney did he dominate 8 - 9 rounds, this was more a kind of lucky punch, than of exhausting (he got possible overconfident or careless).
Curry was not more outmatched than Starling I think, he was even at Light-Middleweight more successful than him (won a world title in it). Many have struggled with Barkley, like Hearn lost even twice vs. him, as he was physical very strong.
Nunn had a similar footwork as Jones in Middleweight and could outmove Hopkins. But interesting is the comparison of their common opponent Sosa, therefore I mentioned him, but in Super-Middleweight was who perhaps more close to his best.
Hopkins had here more problems the first time to go 12 rounds and this was when he just became IBF title-holder, so at his physical peak.

Its funny. Nunn KNOCKS out Kalambay in ONE round and everybody downplays it.
That one win is better then ANY win B Hop has at middle.
Barkley,Mccallum,Graham, Collins nobody ever stopped Sumbu and Nunn iced him.
Tate was unbeaten and Nunn beat the brakes off Tate.
Roldan was a good win as well for Nunn.
Barkley bout wasnt close and Nunn was on cruise control the whole bout.

Hopkins had much better fundamentals than Nunn and would have easily beat anyone Nunn beat only in much more convincing fashion.

Hopkins would have toyed with Roldan who caught Nunn far more than he would have caught B-hop.

I see the reasoning for picking Hopkins, and it's not bad, but I have a feeling Nunn takes the decision .
