Those who were around in 2007 will remember that this fight was seriously discussed as Hopkins next challenge after he shocked the world by lifting the title from Antonio Tarver. Ultimately he opted to fight Winky Wright instead. At this point Maskaev held an alphabet claim to the heavyweight title, but he was virtually crippled by a variety of injuries. How do you guys think this one pans out, and if Hopkins wins, how does it impact his legacy? I asked because Winky was viewed as pound for pound #2 at the time he lost to Hopkins, but that win is rarely brought up to buttress Hopkins' legacy in retrospect.
