Yep. The Hopkins vs. Calzaghe fight bears no value to this match-up.

We're just on opposite sides of it, then. I don't believe there's ever been a smarter fighter in history than Hopkins. Leonard would also have been smaller than him, as good as he was, and I don't see the smaller Leonard getting the best of Hopkins in this one.

And yes your right, Leonard wasn't smarter than Hopkins. Infact, Leonard has never fought a fighter as crafty, smart, and as difficult to hit as Hopkins.

Benitez was not smart and crafty? Undefeated at the time.

When you say smaller, you mean overall or height. SRL filled in good as a MW and even moved up and did well. If your talking about height, then Hearns is as tall as Hopkins. No disrespect, but where was Hopkins intelligence while fighting a one-handed RJJ. Speed kills and I believe SRL's speed of hands, feet, and mind would have gave Hopkins fits. Hopkins was smarter as he got older by beating the cash money cows in Oscar and Tito. Yes, that is smart. He fought a perfect fight plan for Pavlik, but a drained Tarver for me does not do it. I mentioned these two guys just in case you mentioned that he beat heavier guys recently. SRL beat fighters much bigger that him like in Donny Lalonde. I think he even dropped him. I forgot the verdict on that one. You have to be very smart and special to beat the guys SRL beat including Duran, Benitez, Hearns, Hagler, Lalonde, and so many more.

And Hopkins would of beatin all of the guys Ray Leonard beat and did it better. And Hopkins(very green at the time) wasn't in his prime yet when he fought Roy Jones 1 and 2 Roy was even faster overall than Leonard was and had more strength and punching power than Leonard.

Well, that is what he is popular by beating smaller guys until he went up to LHW. We are losing track here. You say the Hopkins of the Tito fight beats the SRL of the Hagler fight. I don't buy it. ****, Oscar was actually winning before he got stopped. So basically your saying that a speedster and one of the most talented fighters ever would lose to Hopkins. Hopkins to me was not green when he fought RJJ. RJJ was the green one. He was not even in the boxing scene too long. He move up from 154 actually. Then again, we are talking about another special fighter in RJJ. A green Hopkins would beat Duran, Hagler, or Hearns?
