Anybody else think this is one of the best displays of accurate straight right hand punching ever? One of Hopkins' under-rated performances IMO, especially when compared with the Trinidad performance which seems to get so much hype. Allen is struggling to find the mark with counters from the opening bell, and that right hand is laser guided against all positions from the second on - Allen just can't avoid it. Also proof of Hopkins' ability in chess matches or against counter-punchers at an age where he had the athleticism as well, throwing some dynamic feints often in succession and with his whole body, and fighting competently at all ranges without the constant holding against southpaws e.g. vs. Calzaghe.

Would have been a great fight if it weren't for all the diving antics.

It's not on YouTube and I couldn't be bothered to upload it, though I will if there accrues sufficient demand.

Allen punked out in the rematch. He was kicking nards ass in the first fight before Hopkins decided to dive out of the ring. I was very disappointed in Allen in the rematch, he was a good strong fighter, but mentally weak.

another beautiful boxing display by Hopkins and won even easier in the 3rd fight. Funniest thing about that the 3rd one was NAzim Richardson screaming from the corner the whole fight, "He's gotta make weight! Hit that light heavyweight in the body, he's gotta make weight!" LOL

The 3rd fight was a masterclass too? I have to check those fights out but all I know is the ko from the 2nd fight is ALWAYS in Hopkins' highlights on youtube but it has every right to be, it was beautiful. I also didn't see all of the first fight but it did look like Hopkins jumped out on purpose but if you fake a fall, I doubt you want to land hard on concrete or metal.

Many people don't realise, but "swim without getting wet" had its origins in this fight, too.

Maybe he punked out because he was getting schooled.

The first fight was very rough. Allen was doing quite well. There was a lotof wrestling. Mill Lane supposedly pushed Hopkins out of the ring and it ended with Hopkins getting injured. Personally I thought Hopkins was looking for a way out of the fight.

Thats the one....!!!, and yeh Hopkins faked that ****. Because he was getting his ass beat, and he for once was being out roughed.

Bernard Hopkins is a bad actor.
