If he can give G that close of a fight in the rematch then he can possibly take Hopkins too. I would back him. Hop doesnt impress me
Hopkins was a little more dimensional than GGG. I think. He had better fight plans and boxing IQ than most which made the difference, and this is how he prolonged his career as long as he did. Hopkins was a study in fight plan and study, the same as Ray was when he fought Hagler. Hopkins sort of did the same with other fighters just not to that extreme.
Lol. I have nothing for you then. If you think a faded Golovkin is on par with a prime Hopkins, then I dunno what to tell you.
I need to do a Hopkins vs Pavlik thread and try to get you to finally pick one of them...no draws allowed lol! Cheers my brother and have a Merry Christmas! I know it already happened
I like Canelo - too much of a workrate for B-Hop because of the pressure Canelo would put on B-Hop - Canelo has improved much since his sole loss to Floyd
These responses make me think nobody watched a prime Hopkins, and too many are thinking of the old man who fought Jermain Taylor. Canelo "outwork" a prime Hopkins? Am I in The Twilight Zone? These are responses I would expect in the general forum. The Hopkins that thrashed Glen Johnson is not getting "outworked" by a spurt fighter like Canelo. These responses are ridiculous.
This content is protected Go refresh your memory of how good Hopkins once was, and pray tell explain to me how a guy who takes off half of each round is gonna "outwork" Hopkins?
Enough of the common sense, impartiality and ability to actually see what's happening in a boxing ring already. It doesn't belong. It's a good thread for actually seeing how deep the disdain for Hopkins runs given Canelo is current, commonly disliked as well and working his way up the P4P list.
You're still gonna have to explain to me how a spurt fighting midget like Canelo is gonna beat a Hopkins who has most physical advantages over him, is the more skilled/intelligent operator.
