    we have a winner.

IMO, Ray would not have allowed Bernard to slow the fight down to a snails pace.

Nard would easily win this fight and everyone who's not a complete ****** knows it. Prime Trinidad is > by far than nearly done SRL, and Hops had ZERO trouble with him. The reason SRL is winning this poll is because don't want to admit that Nard is a better middleweight than Hagler.

Leonard via a razor thin UD like the Hagler fight. Like others have said, 160 wasn't Leonard's best weight and there would be a decent weight difference in favour of B-Hop I think Leonard would do enough in the early rounds with his hand speed and movement to edge it even if he fades a bit down the stretch.

Even though SRL was not a middleweight. It's not a secret what gives Hopkins problems. SRL speed and skill would, no question win on points.

Oh sure. And right after that SRL will jump to HW and take out Lennox Lewis, who would never be able to catch him :nut Losing to Donny Lalonde on only ONE card 7 months later is a sure sign that an old SRL after his three year layoff would easily outpoint possibly the greatest MW champ of all time, and his horrible loss to Terry Norris only two years later.... well who WOULDN'T lose embarassingly to Terrible Terry. Norris would just absolutely manhandle Hopkins LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

I think too many people are looking at hopkins from the taylor fight when he was in his 40s. Even against DLH he was old, that was what 2004.

Watch him around the echols 2 fight and he didnt have any issues with work rate or stamina.

SRL was good at stealing rounds and I had him 8-4 over hagler. A lot of rounds I had Hagler up about the first minute but SRL sensed it and just took over and won the round. But younger hopkins with his size advantage and skills I think would beat SRL convincingly. He was an old fart and look how many of calzghe's shot he slipped and calzaghe was naturally larger, younger and faster.

It could be an issue with the judges though, If theyre **** and SRL throws his flurries but they dont connect well because of hopkins defense, the judges may still be swayed and like the activity and score it as if it landed. Kind of like the calzaghe fight except I felt calzghe won because hopkins was just too inactive but that was old fart hopkins

I did this thread a few years ago in the classic forum and hopkins was out ahead. I think that its 2 things going on thats different.

    1. people are pissed at hopkins and his antics and that can influence their decision. I dont like him anymore myself and I used to like him.

    2. people are so used to seeing him old and fight at such a slow pace and spoiling to survive they forget what he was like 10-12 years ago

All things equal Leonard is the better P4P guy but Hopkins is too big and good at MW for Ray.

Only see a few Middleweights beating a Middleweight Hopkins TBH like Roy, Burley maybe, Monzon, Robinson.

I would totally pick the Hopkins that fought Trinidad over Leonard at 160... That wasn't even Leonard's best weight, the poll surprises me actually.. Hopkins was a big middleweight, I think he would bully Leonard around the ring, using his crafty tactics to a UD in my opinion.

People also forget as well, Hopkins is undefeated when he was the naturally bigger man.... Leonard was significantly smaller than B.Hop, and in the late 90's and early 2000's didn't have a problem with work rate...
