The shitty Dawson 2 fight hurt Bernard, because he was a huge draw TV wise before.

    Hopkins/Dawson II did 1.6 or 1.8, I can't remember which.

Cloud wasn't really a name and both fighters were coming off of poor performances. BHop vs Dawson I and II were not good showings from Hopkins(or Dawson for that matter) and the Cloud/Campillo fight was one of the worst decisions of 2012 as well as fully exposing how limited Cloud is as a fighter(though he was still a decent champion within his limits).

In all honesty, I didn't think the promotion for Hopkins-Cloud was very good. Word of the fight definitely could've gotten out better.

Nice man. Bhop will be happy with that. HBO will probably want him back after that kinda number.

    Pretty poor numbers.

It's a shame that boxing is struggling so much to draw viewers in America.

1.2 is average for HBO. 1.8 is considered a big success, remember that this is a premium channel with 'only' 30 million subscribers. Showtime which has slightly less subscribers would consider 1.2 million a home run for their channel.

Game of Thrones which is a massive success for HBO averages around 3 million.
