It's a difficult one to call given Hopkins age. Potentially Cloud could break the older man down over the course of the fight. Alternativley, Hopkins could have the ringcraft and savvy to old man his way to an unentertaining points win. It will probably go the distance and be pretty uneventful. It would be nice to see Hopkins win, but this could go either way in a fight difficult to score.
Cloud hits like a mack truck but is a limited fighter. Hopkins should be able to take this one...but thats why we tune in we never know due to his age.
I favour Hopkins as he clearly has the style advantage. We have seen Hopkins in the past dominate fighters like Cloud who need to have their feet set to get their shots off. Hopkins movement should be able to diffuse Clouds youth, work rate, aggression and power. But there is always the possibility that Hopkins age finally catches up with him as he was past prime in 2004 when Cloud turned pro!. He has clearly been declining and has looked slower than ever in his last few fights, so if he suddenly looks his age it wouldn't a surprise, hell we've been expecting it ever since he beat Tito over a decade ago. .
Cloud via not being nearly 50. But ad others have said, its hard to tell, a lot depends on how Hopkins has aged
Ive labeled Hopkins as done after the Pascal II fight many saw that as a great win but I saw an old man who i think is losing his legs I said Dawson would win but we had the freak result, i stuck to my guns and said Dawson wins when everyone said oh Dawson cant mentally do it because he tackled him the first fight Dawson won by a good margin while Cloud is considered lucky to have won his last fight I just dont think Hopkins will be able to move his feet and get out of the way of the punches and I think his legs will give out on him I think he hits the canvas like in Pascal I and that in the later rounds 10-12 Hopkins will be in trouble this probably sounds like a risky thing to say on here but I got Cloud by victory any time after the 10th
No way. Out of the new timers, Monzon and Hagler definitely beat him. Then you have to add the old timers too. AND H2H he's not an ATG brute. But nevertheless, he's definitely a Top 50 ATG. Hopkins probably takes this one unless I'm completely underestimating Cloud.
Hopkins vs Pascal I and II weren't boring at all. I hope this one also turns up good. I'll be rooting for Hopkins and he should be able to outbox cloud, if his age doesn't show overnight.
Probably UD / MD /SD for BHop but would like to see Cloud win convincingly. But it will end up not getting any credit for it.
This is the fight I've wanted Hopkins to take for a while thinking he'd be able to out box Cloud. That was before Cloud started working with Sanchez and sparring with Golovkin. Now I'm not so sure.
