There was a time when Hopkins made MW with ease. He beat the crap out of Trinidad and DeLaHoya, could he have done the same vs. a prime Terry Norris? We will make the weight limit 157 Lbs. Discuss-

Hopkins wins by late stoppage OR comfortable UD, just too crafty for Norris, Terry had power, BUT Hopkins had the chin to take Terry's best, i can't say likewise::nono

I normally wouldnt pick Norris against an elite middleweight which Hopkins was but he might have a shot in this one based on styles. Norris had great speed and a good skill set. If he fought smart he could out hustle Hopkins maybe.

I could see Bernard timing him and stopping him mid to late but I think Terry`s natural gifts if he fights the right fight give him a legit chance here. I`d have trouble betting either way on this matchup.

Norris was not big enough to fight Hopkins. Similar to Tito vs. Hopkins, just that Norris had a little more speed so that he could hit Hopkins more, but his chin was not as good as Tito's. So it would be a more exciting fight than Tito vs. Hopkins, but shorter.

I think it would be a competitive fight more so than some. Norris had speed and boxing ability. Bernard would have natural size, durability, and a better defense. I can see them both going back and forth winning alternating rounds, but at the end of the day, an accumulation of accurate well placed punches from B-hop would take their toll on the smaller and less durable Norris, leading to a referee stoppage somewhere between rounds 10-12.

Yup. Hopkins would nullify Norrris bigtime. He'd bully him at times.

I remember watching Simon Brown destroy Norris back in 1993 in their first meeting. Simon was no Hopkins, but he also fought very aggressively and had the hand speed to take care of things at close quarters. Hopkins would win as well, but given his defensive nature, would he take the fight to Terry early? I'm thinking that Norris could steel a few rounds before B-Hop got a rhythm going and stopped him late.

Hopkins in his prime was FAR more aggressive, and offensive minded than the defensive minded old man he is today.

    He'd stop Norris within 7.

X is a strong guy but without a lot of power and Norris owns the category of speed, as Jones did when they fought, as Taylor did when they fought and won

in other words, Bernard cant hurt Terry but Terry will outspeed him

speed beats Hopkins every time and that is why this match is made to order for Terry as he picks up his second straight title

Back in the `Executioner` days of Hopkins,he punishes and hurts Norris. Who was pounded and stopped by Jr. middles. A prime, aggressive Hopkins ? Bad news for `Chinny` Norris...5th -6th rd. stoppage...Mullings,Brown and JJ did it easy, why not Hopkins ...

Norris too chinny for Hopkins, who wins by mid to late rounds KO.
