that is something im curious though, i thought haye was with don king why is goldenboy/hoya jocking him so much as if hes his fighter? Unless hes trying to get haye for when his contract is up with don but i thought haye didnt want that many years left in the sport...
What point? That Pacquiao was knocked out early in his career therefor David Haye has a granite chin? :rofl
this isn't a pound for pound comparison, b-hop is great but he would lose speed moving all the way to heavyweight and he is fighting one of the biggest punchers in boxing. i'd take haye's advantages in power, speed and youth over 45 year old bernard's boxing skills
if hopkins beats jones...which in 2010 i think he can do...then a great fight wold be a rematch with calzaghe in the millenium stadium in cardiff... calzaghe has the biggest payday of his career still waiting for him and a chance to go out in front of his own fans, but if he doesnt do it by end of summer 2010 then i think he's missing the boat a bit. a calzaghe v hopkins rematch is credible, if hopkins beats jones, and its one i'd like to see.
Much as i respect Hopkins skills there is no way this for real Haye is way too big , strong and fast for even someone as all knowing as Hopkins. Bernard is no fool he knoes it too !
That does not make any sense. He wont fight Dawson because he is a risk but he wants to fight a guy that would **** Dawson at HW.
I love -- LOVE -- this fight, for both guys. Haye has shown repeatedly that he's interested in $$$. He just won a title, so he's made himself "legit" at HW. So he can take a fight like this, and even though it's a circus-type fight, it won't hurt his credibility. And, he will make big money and get a lot of eyeballs watching him do his thing. No doubt Haye could take Hopkins out, and quickly. Hopkins said he felt Pavlik's power, well Haye is way, way beyond that. On the other hand, for Hopkins, it's a no-lose. The guy is 44 or whatever. He goes and tries to win a title at HW. Why not? Win or lose, he goes off into the sunset knowing he gave it his best chance, and an RJJ rematch win and a HW title win can put him over-the-top vs RJJ's legacy. This is a brilliant idea by B-Hop. This needs to happen, provided Hopkins beats RJJ. Hopkins can beat Haye. It will not be easy, but he is capable of beating Haye based upon Haye's chin, Hopkins' counters and Hopkins' superior skills. MAKE THIS FIGHT. I will paid money to watch this.
Props - you're in great shape. Good to see fitness is being taken more seriously these days on the other side of the pond. :good This reminds me, however, of why I changed my avatar some time ago (well, actually, one of the mods did). Good stuff, AngloSaxon, and I say that in a very non-homerotic way (not that there's anything wrong with that).
