Bernard Hopkins, who would knock him out?

No one. Hopkins not only has a very solid chin, he has good defence too. Even if he was knocked down or seriously hurt, he'd be experienced enough to clinch, move, block etc. I don't think anyone even at light heavy is so devastating that they would be a cinch to KO Bernard.

Guys like Spinks, Foster, Charles, Qawi, Moore, Fitzsimmons etc, maybe Julian Jackson too, definitely have a chance to KO him. I just wouldn't rate them as odds on favourites to do so.

 

Hopkins would be more likely to KO Foster than vice versa.

"Could" wasn't the question. Almost anyone in boxing at similar weights has a slight change of a KO. It was who *would* stop him. I.e. against whom does Hopkins have virtually no chance of surviving 12 rounds, let alone winning. The answer to that is obviously nobody. There is no light-heavyweight who was such a great KO artist that they could stop in 90%+ of fights, a crafty, tough-chinned, skilled boxer as Hopkins.

At 160 Langford, Robinson could

At 175 Spinks, Moore, Moorer, Foster all have a shot.

 

Robinson, LaMotta, Monzon, Hagler, Hearns, Ayala are a few who come to mind.

 

The G Man at 168 is about the best i can come up with outside of the aforementioned names

 

167 lbs. Fitzsimmons? definitely

 

At 160/168 there is no one for sure,but tommy is an outside chance.
At 175 the bigger punchers 'could' do it but hoppo is too defensive and astute/tricky in general for anyone to be a 'sure' shot to ko him...

 

Foster, Langford, Charles and Moore have the best chance Spinks has a fair chance as well I doubt abyone would do it at 160.

 

Only James Toney could, because Toney knows all the secrets and tricks that Hops does, and then some. Plus Toney is an even dirtier fighter when he wants to be, and Toney is stronger than Hopkins.

 

At 175 I`d give Matthew Saad a very good chance at stopping him, especially if the fight is sceduled for fifteen rounds. Lets not forget that Saad only got stronger as a fight progressed and upped his punch output with each passing round, and I doubt Hops will be able to cope with the pace or aggression of Saad not to mention his booming right hand. Sure, Saad will get tagged plenty but he can take it and keep coming fresh as a daisy for fifteen rounds, the same can`t be said for Bernard though.

 

I think Foster, Spinks and Qawi to name a few have a good shot for different reasons. Take into account that Bhop's as good as he is, hasn't been in with the hardest of punchers at 175, no one that could put the hurt on him. I think Qawi's relentless attack at that weight would take it's toll. Spinks and Foster present a different set of problems.

I Think RB's point above about Saad (a good LH with a relentless attack and power) is a great point.

So I give them a good chance. Is this 12 or 15 rounds, also old weigh in rules or current.
