Bernard Hopkins: Will he ever fight again?

As a Bernard fan, I really don't care to see him fight again....Last night was a horrible fight and I don't expect anything else here on out..His style these days is just not pleasing to the eye.

Does anybody think a fight between him and Roy would be any different than last nights fight?

 

I didn't see him dominated in either of those fights. He clearly lost both in my eyes, but I reserve the term 'dominated' for something like what he did to Tito.

 

I think JC needs to still prove himself. It was a close fight and we are talking about a 43 year old boxer. I don't see Hopkins fighting RJJ anytime soon. If anything, I would rather see RJJ fight JC next. RJJ should take a tune-up and then face JC. It would be great for both fighters.

based on last night...and i cant believe what i am about to say...a 43 year old could win a world title fight at light-heavyweight...bernard hopkins could beat antonio tarver and win that title...he beat him 2 years ago for a lesser 'alaphabet' title...but he, at 43 {again i cant believe i'm saying this} can beat tarver again to win a major world title {ibf light-heavy}...but the fight probably wouldnt make enough money to see it come off...again, its back to the money...

 

Yes, I think it would be much different. I don't think RJJ would be willing to throw nearly as many punches as Calzaghe did, and Calzaghe won the fight purely on volume.

 

Your absolutely correct. He still can fight at top level if you consider JC a top level fighter. It was close. He could go down to 168 and possibly win a title.

 

Hopkins is a thinking man.

For the money, maybe. For legacy, definitely not.
Father time caught him at about the 3rd round.

 

I honestly don't know but if I had to guess I think he will try to give it another go. His body was telling him he was tired, he admitted it to Freddy Roach but is a stubborn son of a *****. He has defied his critics many times and apart of him has to feel he can give it another go since he thinks he beat the best SMW in the world last night. Personally I would like to see him fight Kessler and call it a day but he has belittled Kessler to much, probally sees him as Joe leftovers and would not fight him.

 

He should fight a farewell fight in Philly or MGM and go out on a win.

Although who's more faded is a question begging serious analytical scrutiny - and that will play a major part in the outcome. :think

I think he's got one more fight left in him.

 

His style is painful to watch and he has a personality that makes one yearn to see him hit by a car moving at high speed....but I'm sure he'll punish boxing fans a few more times
