    Prime 1997-2003, absolute peak 2001. I have seen all of Hopkins's world title fights and I am a monster fan. The B-Hop of '01 was a very special fighter.

    What year was it where people rumour that Hopkins had a contract with Calzaghe to fight him and then doubled his demands??

    It was around 2001-2003 was it??

    That is quite a amazing fact ... could you say where you found those numbers?
    I am not doubting you in the slightest btw i am just really curious.

    The guy is truly a modern day enigma.

    Yawn. He wanted big money (just like Joe when he made a fool of his own fans in promoting a sham against Roy Jones instead of fighting Kelly Pavlik). That's if your story is even true, I have my doubts.

    (when has Hopkins ever shirked a challenge? The guy is probably about to go to CRUISERWEIGHT at age 44 to risk annihilation v Adamek, while Joe chose to slap around the corpse of Jones rather than fight Pavlik, then chose to retire rather than fight Hopkins again, or Froch, or Dawson... You know the truth. We all do)

    Anyway, I prefer evidence to rumour. Watch Hopkins v Trinidad. Tell me that guy wouldn't have thoroughly outclassed the Pudwill Slayer. You're lying.

    i have a scrapbook it contains all things "NALLEGE" related,in other words its pretty dire in content and has no relevance to anything of importance nor does it contain a shred of interest to anyone.

    Why are you always so tetchy and confrontational.....

    I was asking a question, a simple question

    Whilst we're talking about evidence........Calzaghe beat Hopkins and that irks people like you, and I see no real evidence that the 160 version of Hopkins that fought a fearsome Welterweight would outclass the man at 168......you can't make assumptions and turn them into facts because you were impressed by Hopkins beating guys that werent entirely comfortable at the weight......

    I like both guys yet you bring up childish arguments constantly and turn them in to facts......

    As for the Adamek debacle.....Hopkins knows how limited the Pole is, he saw Dawson drop him and out box him....Hopkins can do the same and Adamek is not a CW the size of a Haye or a Mormeck, he is an ex LHW who can be beaten. And I hope Hopkins beats him up.

    Yawn. So you don't think Hopkins would have beaten him, and I and most non-Union Jack-flag wavers do. Is there any point to this thread at all other than you feeling in the mood for the same exhausted old arguments??

    I have seen several posters speak of 2 primes, a physical and a technical one.

    Even though he is getting older and slowing down (even though the KP fight did not show it) he seems to still be learning and getting better from a technical standpoint.

    He is a very rare breed of fighter.
