He did better in his debut fight in North America than Hatton. Besides fighting Bernard is not an easy task. I do think Joe won that fight clearly. Hopkins did great, 43 years and still going strong.

    ROFL

How many fights does hopklins have out side the USA son?

    2, and 0 as a champion.....and he only won 1 of the two fights...LMAO

I love the typical BS american double standard.

I wasn't scoring round by round. The fight had a lot of close rounds. I felt Hopkins needed the last round to win it, but I didn't think that he won the last round. I thought that it was closer than 116-111.

Dude, I actually had Hops winning and can see an argument for it, and I KNEW it was going Calz's way.

After the first 3 rounds I though I was a genius. Calz is better and more resourceful than I realized...

I have NO problem with the decision.

And unlike Calzaghe fans who undermined Hops pre-bout, I view this as a magnificent, legacy-defining victory for Calz. Perhaps long overdue even.

I expected that type of strategy from Hopkins.

I agree. There would always be a question mark on his career if he never fought in the USA or fought someone like Nard.

Great win, but Joe didn't look great. But then again, who the feck does vs Nard?

I had it close but it wasn't a robbery. I do think that the last judge was wrong with his score card though. I had it quite close.

    Overreaction.

    Close fight, definitely no robbery.

I'm 0-2 tonight! Was convinced Adamek would be KO'd and that Hops would dominate!

Hopkins didn't do **** to win this fight. Calzaghe took it just off aggression and landing flurries whether they were clean or not he was landing shots, Sure Hopkins lands the cleaner shots LIKE HE ALWAYS DOES, but landing a few good shots a round doesn't win you a fight!!!! Landing punches is what this is about and in the 4th round Calzaghe changed the tempo of the fight and he clearly became the more active man. Calzaghe won this fight comfortably IMHO.

First off all I cant beleive that this is even a thread.

second he was fighting hopkins how the **** is he supposed to look good, but look closer at the subtle moments of the fight like when hopkins faked a low blow that tells you i need a time out, i need space and i need air, i cant take it any more there is not time outs in boxing this a no game. The second one shoud have been ruled a KD and joe pretty much dominated after 4.
