I feel exactly the same, I thought at first Joe on points but Joe is not like that especially right now he is really looking forward to performing he wants to win this convincingly and will go for it, he knows no other way than to attack.
    Im predicting Joe rsf 7th

There is no way he showboats, embarasses, puts a beating on Bernard.

Seriously, if he thinks that's the way he's going to win this fight he's in for a rough awakening.

Calzaghe's best chance is to force Nard to come at him, using the jab, scoring points, whenever Bernard lunges in with the right hand throw a million punches in 1 seconds, then get the **** out of there... repeat this...

But I think Calzaghe is too emotional a fighter, him and his dad have been trying to get Bernard to FIGHT... they know Calzaghe will have to assume the role of MAKING the fight... Bernard does not give a **** about making it a crowd pleasing affair, Bernard wants to win. So Calzaghe, under the pressure of his public, constrained by the expectations that he set (I'm going to KO Hop, I will make him look old, I'm going to embarass him, I'm going to make this a great fight, etc.) will be compelled to initiate the action, and he'll end up fighting Bernard's fight.

Can he win fighting Bernard's fight? I doubt it. But if he does he'll impress me as hell.

These things mean nothing. There is no way in hell that someone like Hopkins is nervous about a boxing bout in any way other than the usual adrenaline, butterflies that any fighter will get as the build up reaches pace.

In terms of real nerves as in fear...no chance. Some fighters had that against someone like Tyson where they may have actually felt like he could kill them in there, but most boxers are not going to have raw fear going into a bout. Hopkins has lived through far worse than a pro bout and is not going to be scared.

That said, I love hearing how Joe looked scared and shaky. I remember well the numerous ESB threads after the Calzaghe-Lacy weigh in, about how Joes face was saying "Oh **** what have I got myself in for" and "Someone get me out of this, the fight was never meant to actually go ahead" and a thousand other mocking comments about how **** scared Calzaghe was and how huge Lacy looked and blah blah blah...

Yeah, lets see how scared he looks tomorrow night when he is landing at will.

Executioner style, you mean the kind of infighting he brutalized Joppy with? The kind of infighting he put into practice vs. Mercado and Echols?

I think Bernard beats Calzaghe at that game, and fairly easily.

Calzaghe's best game plan is the Taylor blueprint (which actually was the Roy Jones blueprint). Accept that the fight will be boring, just be happy scoring on the judges score cards and not on Hopkins' body/head. Jones didn't look good against Hopkins, he did what he had to do, which is stay patient and force Nard to become the aggressor by outboring him.

Judges are easily impressed by activity. But Calzaghe cannot get into a "fight" with Nard, because Nard will not fight the fight the way Calzaghe will want him to.

I think that if Bernard gets Calzaghe to assume the role of the aggressor, Calzaghe is finished.

Right. I still remember all the posts about how PBF looked scared of Ricky at the weight-in.
