X says calz/kess winner much bigger fight than trinidad or jones. This means that the winner of nov 3 fght is next for hopkins. This gives joe alot of incentive to beat kessler, because he will have the opportunity to become a 2 division undisputed champion.
He would be the recognized champ in 3 division if he beats Calzaghe (MW, then beating Tarver...the recognized LHW, then beating Joe.). But undisputed, no.
Source? I doubt we will ever see a fight between these SMW kings and Hopkins, not at this stage in Bernards career.
sues how will he be a 3division champ? 9x's out of 10 the fight would b at 175, or a cachweight of 170. I dont think bernard is going down to 168
I was so impressed with how Hopkins dealt with the puzzle called Winky Wright. I think he might come up with a plan to beat Calzaghe even at this stage of his career. If Kessler beats Calzaghe, it is even easier for Hopkins IMO as Kessler is a classic orthodox fighter.
Im going on the basis that Calzaghe is not going to want to risk his consecutive defense streak and will MAKE the fight at 168. And 3 divisions....MW, LHW and SMW.
Of course he realises the importance, this IS an important fight. Hopkins already said that he wants Calzaghe next after his fight with Winky so expect him to call him out if he beats Kessler.
I kno that, but I doubt he will fight at SMW trust. It wil be at 170 or something for B-hop Ring belt
