Bernard's age was the deciding factor

    Calzaghe is past his physical prime, and I believe he was adversely affected by fighting abroad. He got the worst possible start yet still pulled out the victory. He's a great fighter.

    Both fighters are old in boxing terms. But I think age has a more detrimental effect on Calzaghe's style of fighting than Hopkins - if that makes sense.

    I think that Joe was already past his best when he fought Lacy. I think he peaked physically around 2001 - 2003. A shame he was fighting 'nobodies' at that time, but his win over Byron Mitchell showed how explosive and relentless he was back then.
