Both in their primes, who takes this match? I think this one has the potential to be a real barn burner!

I agree. It would be a barn burner and a great fight. Two tough guys who liked to brawl and weren’t afraid to mix it up. I went with snipes by decision. I think he was the better fighter but at the same time didn’t have the kind of power to bully and hammer Burt as other heavyweights did. It might look similar to the Cooper vs Mercer fight

I'd go with Snipes by UD. Though Bert would have some thrilling moments

Career for career I'd edge Snipes ahead. But take the Bert Cooper from the Mercer fight and I think Bert smokes Snipes like a cheap cigar.

    Lest we forget

Snipes decision for me. Snipes was very durable and was only stopped twice in his career. Once was accumulation by peak Holmes late in the fight with Snipes still on his feet and the other was aged 37 in his very last fight against a guy much much bigger fighter who hit quite hard and turned out a fair fighter. Snipes was hopelessly outgunned at this stage of his career and showed enormous heart.

He was a very awkward guy who could do a bit of everything and this would be enough here for mine.
