P4P #2 is a figurative ranking. It doesn't mean that p4p #2 could be competitive against #1 unless they were in the SAME DIVISION. The #2 ranked fighter of a division is viewed in this way. It seems people take p4p rankings way too ****en seriously. Mosley/Mayweather=Great welterweight matchup that is a toss up between #1 and #2. Mayweather/Marquez is not.
Duran/Leonard and Mosley/DLH are famous because of how unlikely the outcome was and historical and they were REAL LIGHTWEIGHTS, Marquez fought there 2 times.

p4p is a ranking list made on the assumption that the ranked fighters wouldn't meet up because of weight divisions.

Don't. Their night is easy and consists of listening to him talk about Jack Dempsey and Ray Robinson for half an hour, then taking an unlit cigar in the hooter in place of the erection that should not be, then accepting their payment and leaving. It's not that bad.

His comments are from before the fight. I made similar comments too, but I never expected Marquez to look so poor. On paper it was a good fight, but the sad fact is, Marquez doesn't belong at the weight. If he wasn't chasing Pacquiao, he could still make 130lbs. That showed on fight night.

I find it funny how people switch from source to source, when it suits their agenda, by the way. Had Sugar said this was a joke of a fight, I'm sure you wouldn't consider his opinion.

Are you talking about how Bert Sugar sounds convicted about one opinion then lies about a new one after he realizes it doesn't suit his agenda? He did say it was a joke of a fight........after he found out he was extremely wrong.

Thats alright jack. The only person who's opinion on modern boxing that I hold in less esteem then Bert Sugars is yours.

Marquez gained 6lbs from the time he fought Diaz. That 6lbs didnt make Marquez look ordinary, Mayweather made Marquez look ordinary. Infact Marquez has never been a fast puncher, his skill is based on timing, infact he was able to time Mayweather a few times and land a few lead right hands, however, Mayweather has the same skill set as Marquez but he is bigger, faster and more athletic, thus the disparity was in the boxers themselves not the weight.

Put it this way, Mosley on fight night will have a 1 inch height advantage, 2 inch reach advantage, and 5-10lb weight advantage.

But mayweather will still school him.
