i think there might be a chance bert has something other than tobacco in those cigars he loves munching on.
Johnson is at #10 and Hagler is #47. The worst thing about the list is the omission of Michael Spinks in the top 100.
Weight classes aren't going to be held into account because Roy Jones isn't naturally a light heavyweight either. When he got knocked out by Tarver, or by Green, nobody claimed it was because he was over his natural weight. Nobody is stealing their great wins over Roy Jones. The fact is Trinidad lost to both Jones and Hopkins. It had nothing to do with weight. Trinidad would have lost to both of them at any weight, at any time in their careers. Only the beating would have been worse if the weight had been lower.
I know you can downgrade any fighter's resume. I think most of those wins were good wins for Holyfield. He does not deserve though to be rated higher, or equal to, Ali.
Theres no way Floyd would have a better resume when he has NEVER beaten another great fighter in his prime. Roy Jones beat Hopkins and Toney at the peak of their powers. This would be like Floyd beating prime Oscar, and prime Mosley. Mosley on the other hand does have a win over a prime Oscar, but thats just one. I suppose if Mosley beats Floyd then I would consider him at or beyond Roy Jones Jr. Hopkins did beat a prime Pavlik who was bigger than him. He did beat prime Tarver who was bigger than him although I admit Hopkins has not beaten any great fighters in their prime who were bigger than him, but maybe thats why he wants to take on Haye.
I agree with Toney, but not Hopkins. I think both Jones and Hopkins were relatively green and still improving as fighters in 1993. I think Hopkins's peak was 1996-2001. I was watching Hopkins's first fight with Segundo Mercado the other day. Although I thought Hopkins won, I wasn't all that impressed with Bernard, I think he smoothed out the edges and improved his game in the upcoming years.
No he wasn't re watch the fight. Pavlic was coming up two weight classes and was clearly the smaller man for me. He was younger and heavy favored to win and it was a great win for Hopkings. But he was still the bigger man
***afora only starts these threads to cause trouble, then ducks out when the questions get tough. His small head houses an even smaller brain. He's a ****.
Bert Sugar has Fitz back in the 60's.... That is more laughable than having Jones at 88. Crazy old ****er probably has to hire a private caregiver to dress him and wipe his ass for him.
