"Right now he has no legacy outside of being boring. I mean, i was seated at one of his fights and i had to tell the guy in the press section infront of me to quit snoring cause he was keeping me awake"

Bert Sugar is one of them people who refuse to let go of the past. He thinks Joe Louis is better than Muhammad Ali, and has Dempsey in the top 3 heavyweights of all time

He can be terribly full of **** at times. Of course, I'd rather watch a Frazier fight to a Wladimir Klitschko fight, but Wladimir isn't as boring as people make him out to be. He's still a great fighter and heavyweight champion of the world, after all.

A fighter in black and white from the 30's who do the exact same things that Wladimir does would be much more appreciated to him. Basically, take everything he says with a pinch of salt.

If Wlad has no legacy, David Haye has no legacy. Even if Haye wins.

Someone needs to remind Bert that the cold war ended in 1991 when he was 104 :!:

Bert Sugar's opinon isn't worth sit. His whole "pretending to smoke a cigar while wearing a hat" schtick is embarrasing. Also, just because he looks like he is still in the 1940's doesn't make him a boxing historian.

He only watched Wlad vs Ibragimov and has said this nonsense since then. Any man who thinks they know a fighter and his legacy based off of watching one fight clearly has zero credibility.

Bert Sugar yearns for the good old days of boxing - when we had such charitable and kind gentleman as Blinky palermo and Owney Madden running the game , Those innocent days of yesteryear when a fighter had more managers than stitches in his face and you could always rely on someone in the corner to keep a .38 roscoe on you during the fight incase you forgot yourself and didnt go down in the agreed round .

Its a bad time allround for Bert what with more and more fighters retiring from the game as millionaires and getting into promoting - Bert wants to see real success stories - like former light heavy champ Kingfish Levinsky , so broke after his generous and caring managers finished with him that he had to sell 1 dollar ties from a case outside of the garden just to afford to eat . Yep Bert sure does miss them good old days !!!

Bert Sugar doesn't know anything that happened after 1940 in Boxing. If you look at his history he was a failed Baseball writer then stumbled into Boxing. He is a con artist.

I enjoy Bert Sugar's stories and such and he can be an entertaining guy but he is so biased that he has zero credibility. Everything older is better to him even when its not true. I knew he had nothing positive to say about Wlad before I even looked.
