I use to hate what he said but I feel where he was coming from. He was smart an knew his ****. Especially on the heavweights here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qxx60wk_JWU I think he had a hard time with this era, this era was an is still terrible. He loves roy jones
Knew his stuff did Burt, aslong as that stuff was pre 1999. He struggled to accept fighters from this era, and some of his claims were just close minded and bitter, such as Primo Carnera being able to beat both K Brothers.
His ranks were a joke but his feelings on the state of the game were so right. How can you love it? He was right but so wrong
I enjoyed him. Sometimes I thought his schtick was a little much, but he knew a lot about boxing and his passion for it was genuine.
Bert Sugar was a shameless nostalgist. He was sometimes tolerable when not talking about the present era, whenever that was at the time, the 80s, 90s, or 00s. I can never be too sad when a golden ageist is silenced, particularly one who shat allover more recent decades at the expense of the sport's image.
Besides the dempsey no 1 p4p fucin ever I like him. He didnt have much to say about this era, i dont blame him its so ass
He knew his boxing.. However he had strong biased opinions.. Since I am a klitschko fan, I have never really liked him that much. From a "boxing fan" perspective he was (despite his obvious bias) a good character in the sport.
