Nice videos & narratives about each man on his list... http://sports.espn.go.com/broadband/video/videopage?videoId=3165926&categoryId=2491554&lpos=spotlight&lid=tab8pos1 Louis would have put Ali down for the count. That man was solid. He threw BOMBS. Ali threw a bunch of bee sting's.
Sugar has Lewis at 12, frankly i dont see several from this list meriting being above him, not once you take the good old days glasess off!
Awful list. Not only does he have the "old timer" glasses on, but he has the wrong choices in that regard as well. Charles and Tunney as top 10 HW's? Come on, top 5 LHW's sure, but HW's? Nah, no way. And I'm too tired to go into it again, but Ali rates above Louis.
I have it on very good authority that Bert Sugar is a total ****, so his opinion is something I will dismiss out of hand.
I dont pay much attention to Bert Sugar, he gives too much credit to old timers being an old geezer himself. is that cigar EVER lit?
WTF does he mean when he says Ron Lyle- vs George Foreman nobody remembers it! Everyone remembers it!
Sugar is a ****, but the man is probably one of the greatest boxing historians of all time. He knows almost everything one can know about boxing without actually stepping in the ring himself.
I guess your right. I like a skilled boxer that can hurt people. And once he's got you hurt, he finishes. Sound like someone we know? With the initials KP, maybe? Joe Louis usually did it with one shot, through.
I dont like him much either, but the man has far greater knowledge than anyone on ESB. He has a wide collection of boxing videos at his disposal, his job is to give his well educated opinion on certain upcoming fights and fantasy match ups, he is well respected as a great boxing historian.
