He's one of those guys whose so stuck in the past that anything great in his face in these times will only be downplayed by some guy who even boxing fans haven't even heard of in the 50's i use to respect him but now he's annoying.

It's the end of 2007 Bert get a new gig dun!

I am not a fan of Bert Sugar. He's too biased towards the fighters from his youth. He doesn't give enough credit to the modern fighters. It's absurd how he ranks Tunney and Charles so high.

We did a poll here a while back..Bert Sugar vs. Larry Merchant.

People picked Sugar..I was left scratching my head because his memory skipped three decades 80s, 90s and 00's

**** Bert Sugar. I really dislike him. If I became a critic of other men for my entire life I would kill myself. This is not my job, I just do it to unwind.

He's more of a great story teller and clown that remembers an insane number of facts/stories about old-time boxing for ESPN than anything else. I hate seeing him interviewed anywhere and it pisses me off when he criticizes the sport nowadays every chance he gets. Barely putting Roy Jones in the top 100 ATG list is moronic no matter who you are.

You just shut him right up...lol NOBODY matches Alis resume. I think these people dont know who Liston was when Ali beat him. Or even big George. They were nightmarish fighters. Like going against Mike Tyson or something.

Yeah, Ali's resume is amazing. The best in heavyweight history. And the guys I listed were nightmares like you said - all 3 carried devestating power, and Ali took their shots, and won more than he lost. He was one of a kind.

Ali was arguably the best one weight class fighter of all time. He faced and beat all the top fighters of his time, which is more than pretty much anyone else can say.
