It dropped him because it was a hard, clean shot that he didn't see at all. He recovered 100% in 6 seconds.
lol not any time soon but he is a prospect and I hope the best for him, right now he gets beat but he has time on his side. Remember your boy Cotto was at this same stage not to long ago and had some questionable fights also. Obviously Cotto learned alot, got much better and is now a major force, no reason Berto cant do the same. It definitly woudln't hurt the Sport to have Berto excel and be up there among the others
I think you are jumping the gun on this one. He got up from a terrific shot he didn't see and looked fine after the count.
I have said that same thing before also. For those of us who have watched many young prospects rise and fall, the tell tale signs are all there... this guy is going to run into someone thats gonna give him the beating of his life. His handspeed isnt what its all cracked up to be, he just seems fast because his opponents are all so slow and throw looping shots. Hes too stumpy, he will always have the reach disadvantage and he will be even more of a plodder as he gets older. Hes just too thick and has like no lateral movement. I've watched like 5 of his fights, and I have yet to see much ring intelligence from him...he just tried mauling the guy tonight...he rarely landed clean punches, but when he did they did some damage. No jab either :-(, nothing textbook...it was all wild looping shots most of the time. And to compare Berto to Cotto is ridiculous... Since very early in Cotto's career, he completely dissected and blew out almost everyone in dominating fashion. Corley and Torres aint not Cosme Rivera either. Cotto had a ruptured eardrum on both those fights, it happened in training camp before Corley, and then after they thought it healed in the Torres fight thanks to some of his big hooks.
Dude, he was fine by the time the count reached 8. All that other stuff is just background noise. I've been saying all along that his chin will be his downfall, but he seemed to have quick recovery time.
I don't understand the Berto haters. I think he looks great and have always been very impressed by his skills. He's a great natural talent and has awesome potential.
