true but in your HONEST word for how long? I say 5-6rd before floyd starts to pull away I give about the same with Manny before he starts to pull away and stop him . those type of boxers give all boxers problems that is why they are most of the all time greats ALI, SRR, SRL. but berto gets hit too much. those who say he wouldn't be a challenge are foolish IMO. he will give ANY BODY problems, just like Khan will. it the other 1% that separates the very good from the very best
i think berto can cause mayweather hell in the ring.but i think mayweather would beat him in a high speed game of chess.
I definitely wouldn't choose him to win this fight.. But I think it would be entertaining with Berto coming on very strong early.. He hasn't shown any reasons for us to believe he is at the truly elite level, but he has shown athleticism and skill that i think can give anyone fits.. He probably gasses or just gets sparked late if he fights at a very fast high pace.. But if somehow he manages to remain CALM and not blow his load early, it could be interesting.
Yes, and it was clear as day ODLH missed majority of the shots he threw. Work rate counts for something, but he got way too much credit for throwing and missing. I think Cortez was in the mix too much in the Hatton fight, but it wouldn't have changed the outcome. Again pressure counts for something, but you're giving him way too much credit for crowding him.
Considering the inactivity of Mayweather , his age and weak oppositions, the possibility of Berto beating Mayweather is within reality.
He did miss alot but Floyd missed much more than compubox stats lead us to believe...Oscars defense was really good that night, and Floyd rarely landed clean.. Floyd won both fights.. Even with a different ref I believe he would have gave Hatton the business in the final quarter of the fight.. it just would have been a bit more competitive with Hatton pushing hard, even though dropping rounds..
So you think he landed a lot more than Oscar or only a little more? If you think Floyd missed much more than compubox stats say, do you think they are accurate stats for Oscar in that fight or he missed a lot more than given credit for as well? I think it could have been more competitive with another ref, but that means he was pushed to his limits by you?
Cmon Chief this was viewed as a passing of the torch fight.. You do the math... floyd won that fight clearly 7 rounds to 5, but it was as much a schooling as Taylor gave BHop BOTH times.... Yes Floyd was definitely outside his comfort zone.. Cortez made it much more unlikely that Hatton could land any big punches of significance that could swing the fight... Rewatch the first four rounds of that fight and tell me who was the biggest influence of the THREE MEN inside that ring.. Hatton had the footspeed, combination punching and athleticism just like Berto to cause floyd problems..
How much you want to bet that I'll beat you? Go somewhere with your trolling, let's behonest, you're a dummy.
I didn't say he schooled ODLH. But he clearly won the fight and Oscar did not give him all he could handle. Outside his comfort zone doesn't mean pushed to his limits to me, maybe we just see this differently. Floyd is in control for so long in so many of his fights whenever he's not dominating people tend to say he's pushed to his limits or was about to lose. Like I said Cortez was involved more than necessary, but even you admitted that you believe Floyd would have won if it were another ref. I don't see that being pushed to his limit. Doesn't appear he felt he was losing in either fight, so I don't think we saw how Floyd would act if he was pushed to his limits.
This forum's funny at times. I know people hate the guy, and I don't particularly like the guy outside of the ropes. But there is a reason why Mayweather and Pacquiao are considered leagues above the rest...it's because they are. You don't become a 5 weight World Champion whilst having a weak resume. It's not the greatest resume, but it's far from weak. Go watch more of his bouts rather than taking people's word for it that Castillo beat him.
You're wrong.. If Hoya wasn't controlling the fight, Floyd would have at any point in the fight pushed him back.. What I'm saying is that only 4-5 elite fighters pop up out of each ten year crop, and really stand out.. Hatton wasn't one of them and Oscars was the 90's.... For an ELITE fighter to drop rounds like that is insanity... Bottom line is Berto has more than a punchers chance..
Oscar was a bigger aggressive man, why would Floyd have to push him back to win or even try to push him back to win? He clearly won the way he was fighting, are you saying that he didn't want to fight like that? Dropping rounds someone believes you shouldn't doesn't equate to being pushed to his limits in my opinion, but it could just be me. Berto poses a decent threat to anyone at 147 due to speed alone.
