Foot step on? You got photo or a video to prove that? Cause i have the fight on tape and Berto did not had his foot step on. If Berto foot was step on in which he was off balance then how come He was holding on for dear life when Collazo was looking to end it?

Thanks man. I hate that few actually think Berto was off balance cause they say his foot was step on in which that's bs. I have the fight on tape and i watch it 20 times and 20 times i didn't see a foot being step on when Berto was clearly hurt by Collazo straight left hand in the 1st round. I challenge anyone to post a video or a photo that shows Berto foot was step on when he got nail by the straight left of Collazo in the 1st round.

I dont think a foot got stopped on because he got caught while off balance. The shot looked worse than what it really was.

Usually a fighter holds on when the other fighter thinks he's hurt him.

It's happened in a few fights where a fighter think hes hurt the other guy and the guy just holds instead of trading. Smart move by Berto, came back and won the round IMO. Because besides that punch and a little flurry Collazo did nothing.

1st round could be an even round but i thought Collazo hurt Berto worse then Berto hurt him imo.

Like I said, it looks worse than it was.

Berto was easily winning the round before he was "caught" I guess. And after the little flurry by Collazo, Berto came back and stunned Collazo twice in the round with big shots. I thought that gave him enough to the win the round. Even if I give it to Collazo I still had berto winning.

Collazo won the first round clearly. Berto was basically down. Only the ropes kept him from a legitimate knock down. Then Berto held for more than a mitune. How the hell he won the round? With few punches? Yes, he had a moment but Collazo won it overall.

I am surprised some people had Berto winning the fight. No way he won the fight with a point deducted. No way he won 7 rounds. At the best case scenario he won 6 rounds, including the final two.

He didn't need it need it (as in, on the cards of well-informed and attentive scorers). However, he did need it knowing that judges are judges (and judges aren't always well-informed and attentive scorers) and that having enough rounds in the bank to eke out a close decision coming into the home stretch means you HAVE TO WIN THE 12th. :!:

It may not be right, but it is a truism of boxing that in many cases you need to take the belt from the champ...the adage goes "you gotta knock 'em out to get a draw" - being that Luis really was never a KO threat to Berto, even when he had him stunned, his only real chance was to dominate every round that he could to erase any shadow of doubt. He gave away 11 and 12, and thereby the fight (not on my scorecard - but he should have known better...always give yourself a round or two more than you think you need).

you had it 115-112 for Collazo??? NO WAY IN HELL IT WAS 115-112 FOR COLLAZO!! gotta get you some glasses. at the most Collazo won this fight 114-113, like I had it, but 114-113 is cool with me because thats 1 swing round they gave Berto that I gave Collazo. thats why the call them championship rounds. If Margarito wins the 12th against Williams then he probably gets a draw and keep his title, if Winky doesnt BS in the 12th against JT hes MW champ, if Collazo wins the 12th hes WW champ, thats how things go.

Dude where did I say anything about 115-112? I've said about a million times I had it 114-113 for Collazo, and NOWHERE in my post does anything about "115-112" appear? What are you talking about?? :? Calm down and read a little more slowly. You're acting a buffoon and looking very silly, based on your own poor reading comprehension. If you meant to quote someone else and this is a mistake, I apologize. If you're addressing me, you need to check yourself, little man. Don't put words (or scores) in my mouth.

    Excellent post!

Collazo won the fight and I think you could call it a robbery based on the fact that last time I checked the poll on this forum 70% thought Collazo won. And we KNOW Berto has more nutthuggers than Collazo. I don't care what some incompetent and blind judges saw because I know what I saw. And the card that was 116-111 for Berto despite the 1 point deduction was so utterly rediculous that you can't help but think corruption.

In any event, Collazo took off a couple rounds and was basically surviving the 12th which cost him. However, as close as the score was, I don't think it was a difficult fight to score. The score may have been close, but to me almost every round had a clear, definitive winner. Also, Collazo could've been credited with a knockdown in the first as the ropes held Berto up. No, Berto wasn't badly hurt, but the rules are the rules and the ropes cannot hold a fighter up...

An unfortunate result in my opinion. And that is sincere as I was hoping either for a Collazo decision or a Berto blowout so that he would step up his level of competition. Now he'll probably go hide with the belt somewhere remote.
