I had Collazo by one point. I didn't tally it up but I think I had 114-113. I don't feel the decision was a robbery even though I had Collazo ahead. Feel bad for Luis, though.
When Collazo wanted to take a break, Berto let him take a break, When Collazo wanted to fight inside, Berto let him fight inside, when Collazo wanted to box and move, Berto let him box and move. This is what I call mental domination.
Collazo won, but I'm very satisfied with official results. In my wildest dreams I never would have imagined such an outrageously stupid and underperforming version of Luis Collazo would show up. He spent long periods not punching, dropping his hands for no reason, standing directly in front of Berto, and doing NONE of his signature counter punching and crisp precision scientific style fighting. That was one of the most ******ed displays of bad execution, needless arrogance, and poor professionalism I've seen in a long time from a top fighter. Collazo gave his chances away - this could have been a dominating win for him. He may just have buried his career. Nice one, Luis.
I had it 115-112 for Berto I might be the only one who scored the first round for Berto... it was very close and could have gone either way. In my opinion Berto was not hurt in the 1st, Collazo caught him cleanly when he was off balance and he fell back, which led to a brief rally by Collazo. It all comes down to whether or not you thought Berto was "hurt." I felt like he was stunned and of balance, but not necessarily "hurt." I felt that Berto won the first part of the 1st round... then after the impressive rally from Collazo, Berto came right back and was the better man for the final minute of the round. I have no problem with someone giving this round to Collazo of course. Had I given it to Collazo my card would have been 114-113 for Berto, which is probably the exact way 2 of the 3 judges saw it. Here's my scoring breakdown: 1. 10-9 Berto 2. 10-9 Berto 3. 9-10 Collazo 4. 8-10 Collazo 5. 10-9 Berto 6. 10-9 Berto 7. 10-9 Berto 8. 10-9 Berto 9. 9-10 Collazo 10. 9-10 Collazo 11. 10-9 Berto 12. 10-9 Berto Considering that my scoring of the first round might have been a stretch in some peoples' minds, I see no possible way that you could have scored it 116-111 for Berto.
