Last week there was a discussion about the next great thing. Only a few like myself said Berto, but everyone one was saying Gamboa. Then they talked about Berto knock down that he recovered well from. So my question is what is Pac was hitting him could he take it. And to Sweet Pea I told you he needs to keep his hands up and what happen knockdown. Sweet Pea said that wasnt a major flaw of his.
I'm not dissing Gamboa and like him. But you cant tell me that he is ready for a title shot now. Thats what people are saying like with Kahn and Berto.
I disagree. In fact, I was rather disappointed in what I had seen of Berto until a few fights ago. He's changed my opinion, I think he has a good future. Just think Gamboa has a better one ahead of him. Only time will tell, though.
Gamboa developmentally is at the same stage as those guys, and ordinarily someone (who isn't a total freak) at that stage shouldn't be ready for prime time. What people keen on him have faith in is that his physical gifts and seemingly natural aptitude for being in the ring and adapting will help speed up his learning process (that and being matched tough from day one). Berto is fun enough (and has improved slightly) but will never be a legit top 10. He loses to a Clottey.
Not really, Berto is extremely flawed, and has a shakey chin. He WILL be found out very soon Gamboa has his flaws, but they are workable and are bound to be evident when he is facing such high quality when he has only fought in single figures as a pro. Didn't see Berto facing that kind of class so soon.
My bad I called you out, but you said it and thanks for being a man about it. But I just think Berto can beat Clottey, Quitana, and Collazo right now. I'm, also mad my pops said he can tickets for this fight. Then lied and said there were no good seats left. What a liar
He wouldn't beat Quintana, no way in hell. Infact, I think he gets starched early, Quintana seems to have real pop in his straight left early on. Clottey would grind him down, that is a horrible fight for Berto. Mid rounds Collazo gives him hell, but Berto could pull out a decision
