I won't accuse Floyd if the fight is on free TV, not PPV.

Because we all know Floyd won't retire and will be fighting Pac 2 and maybe the winner of Cotto-Alvarez for the middleweight title (at 155 of course).

Surely Berto was knocked out cold by jorneyman Soto Carass and dominated by former featherweight Robert Guerrero who was dominated by Floyd.

Berto is C level vs A level Floyd.

Mayweather gets his 1st KO win in years, maybe that's why he picked punching bag Berto

    Could've made.

    Bradley
    Thurman
    Khan
    Brook

    But he chose Andre Berto.

Say what you want about him "deserving" an easy fight (such nonsense), but this is not only a slap in the face to the fans, but an easy way for him to get to 49-0.

Berto is so undeserving it's comical, it really is.

The man hasn't done ANYTHING of any note in ages, yet he's the frontrunner in the 'Mayweather sweepstakes"?

"He deserves an easy fight" - You really believe that? He is supposedly "The best ever" (if you have the slightest clue about boxing you know that's untrue) but he apparently deserves a gimme? How about fight THE VERY BEST in the divisions that you rule, 'eh? Berto isn't worthy, simple.

What professional boxer earning THIRTY TWO MILLION PER FIGHT deserves an easy fight? No-one, that's who.

Andrade and Lara would be much MUCH greater challenges.

It's just a joke now with him. But his loyal idiots will make a reason for this fight (see my deserving argument) being cool.

Said it before and said it again, this sport will SO MUCH f*cking better when this idiot is gone. All he does is r*pe the sport.

Don't ever look up Robinson, Ali, Louis, or Leonards' opposition either then! You will be shocked with your findings if you do! Haha. Doubt you hold those all time greats to that standard.

    It is what it is.

He's a superstar. Superstars in boxing always get superstar treatment. Always have and always will. Sometimes it sucks.

So you agree that it's a pointless fight compared to the fights that Floyd COULD have made instead the, yeah?

    Absolutely.

Mayweather vs. Drozd or Huck would be epic.

it is a pointless fight from fan's perspective.

from a business perspective it makes sense. i'm not sure on specifics, but i am pretty sure they will have a hard time fulfilling the 32 mil commitment. i suspect haymon wants to do this to test market.

after the showtime/cbs deal is done, mayweather is technically a free agent. haymon is bleeding money at the moment. he needs to sign a tv deal. mayweather is his only bargaining chip. they need this tv stuff to do good ratings.

haymon's model is clear. use the cheaper tv to increase exposure to make the big money on ppv. imagine if nbc was showing 1 floyd fight a year and 1 ppv fight. its a good lure if you ask me. the problem is you'd have to limit your losses on free tv because the ad revenue simply won't be there. the money will be made up on ppv.

:rofl Man you need to check your blood pressure.

There's always the option that you just don't watch it. Of course he could make a better fight but you know the way if he just retired and didn't fight in Sept that would have been the only choice? Yeah, just don't watch. Then the guys you want him to fight will fight each other so... win win.

I had no intention of watching him against any of those guys, so it makes no difference to me.
There's really nothing to get upset about. There are a few fighters who are worth watching, and Floyd isn't one of them.

For us in the UK time zone, it should be a no-brainer, stay up all night to watch a Floyd Mayweather fight again ?

On the off chance that it will be a real fight, good luck to Berto, he's going to need it. :good

Is this a fight that fans should jump up and be excited? Hell No cause mayweather vs berto is a mismatch but i'm not all too disappointed because if that fight is a free network on Cbs??? Then i'm not all to disappointed. If that fight was still on ppv? I'll blast floyd like never before.

Floyd has made it clear that he wants no part of Keith Thurman or any other opponent who has speed and skills.

people need to remember that haymon/floyd owe berto.....although they may have already deposited a nice check to him years ago

berto stepped aside when shane was hot....after pac left floyd at the altar floyd had no viable opponents and shane/berto was signed and sealed.....berto used the excuse that the earthquake made him back out....but that was bull....pierre garcon still played in the superbowl......berto stepped aside so floyd could fight shane after shane beat up margarito....it helped floyd greatly......and now they are giving him this money/shot
