I heard about it before coming on ESB through Khan's twitter that he thinks Berto is likely Floyd's next opponent.

But last time I checked, Floyd is the one who announces these things and he usually throws a curveball that no one expects. If he was selecting Berto, I'm sure he wouldn't allow anyone to make the announcement except for him. He's been doing that for a couple years now.

Boxrec probably though it was inappropriate to put a TBA on for Floyd, so they just give the date, # rounds and location.

Floyd doesn't owe Berto anything. When FLoyd was taking his annual sabbaticals away from the ring, he was still the biggest cash cow in the sport by far.

He chose MOsley because Shane was the best possible opponent for him at the time not named Manny Pacquiao. He was considered a much greater challenge than Andre Berto.

When Mosley dismantled Margarito in the manner he did, the universal comment post-fight was that there was no way Mayweather would ever step in the ring with Mosley. Well he did, and he beat him very convincingly.

No offense to Berto, he had a nice little win streak going on for him about 4 or 5 years ago, but he's been on a roller coaster ride ever since and honestly he looks like a punch drunk version of his former self. he's been in some pretty rough wars the last couple years, and it's quite evident he's slowed down.

A guy who lost to Ortiz and Soto-Karass the way he did should be thanking his lucky stars if Floyd decides to pick him as his final fight.

Funny enough, Berto's delusional self probably thinks he earned this fight after going life and death with Josesito Lopez. Someone should inform Berto that Floyd is picking him because he views him as a gatekeeper or stepping stone at best. It's a tune up fight to keep him nice and preserved for his potential 50th bout next year against the Pacman more than likely.
