No, I just HATE the way he play this sport and his fans like a game.

Final fight of a TWO HUNDRED MILLION DOLLAR contract and he has a HOST of awesome fights, and who does he pick? Andre Berto. The most irrelevant WW on the planet.

 

Ok 2 things: What do you care about his fanbase for and why are you bringing up the man's finances? That just sounds like a blatant excuse, or a shield if you will, to allow yourself to continually attack him on this forum.

Who cares who he's fighting for his last match. If it bothers you so much, just don't tune in.

berto/mosley was signed......and floyd was talking to manny....manny left him to fight clottey and floyd was left with nothing really

berto and mosley was signed man....and then the earthquake hit and they used it as a perfect excuse since shane was hot at the moment.......it makes alot of sense and this is how it went down if you recall correctly

floyd didnt have a big name he could have gotten on short notice....all of the sudden berto was like "yeah i cant fight the earthquake has thrown me off"....and boom shane/floyd was signed......it wasnt just coincidence

 

If only boxing held EVERY FIGHTER to the same standards as Floyd.

I want to see the same passionate responses for unproven guys who repeatedly refuse to test themselves and opt for the easier bouts, not for a guy who's been on top for 18 years...a lot of you are just salty and being ridiculous.

It's funny, people who are not fans of a fighter make threads like this to bash their opponent. If you're not a Floyd fan, don't mind the news that he's fighting someone you're not interested in because you likely would have bashed any opponent anyway. If anything, be happy that Floyd is not taking somebody who one of your favourite fighters could take to the dance instead. I'm not happy with Berto but that's because I am going to watch the fight in Sept 12 regardless of opponent.

This thread is the exact same as a Clippers fan being outraged that Lakers couldn't sign anybody decent in free agency. Or a Chelsea fan being disgruntled at ****nal not signing any new outfield players yet. Just move on and stop crying.

 

Well you're really minimizing the impact that earthquake had on Andre Berto and his family.

Based on your post, you make it seem like it was some perfect excuse for Berto to step aside. When in actuality, it was an awful situation for him and his family since a good portion of his family still resides in Haiti. This is the same country he's from and the country he represented in the Olympics.

And honestly, who cares anyway? FLoyd CLEARLY took on the superior fighter of the 2, so I don't exactly know what your point is?

If it's that FLoyd gave someone some step aside money, ok so what? Who cares? He did the same thing a year before that matchup with Mosley when he pitched the idea to JMM that he'd give him 1 million dollars as step aside money for Floyd to fight Manny back in 2009.

He's the biggest PPV star, if he wants to pluck people away from other potential matches, he has the power and ability to do so.

pierre garcon was equally devestated by the earthquake and still played in the superbowl....so i dont by the earthquake devestation as a reason to back out of the fight

im saying is.....if berto/shane had gone as scheduled(and this fight was signed)...shane wouldnt have been available in may for floyd......with both berto and floyd being haymon guys i think they worked something out where berto used the earthquake as a reason to step aside....so floyd would have a big ppv fight .....because when pac walked away to fight clotte floyd wasnt left with many options at the moment.....and at that time floyd was in fighting mode....

Is your point that you believe Haymon and Floyd may have contractually agreed to fight Berto after Shane years ago and are still to repay the debt?
