Nothing's official, but the mere mention of Berto by Floyd himself as a possible next opponent is pretty audacious.

I get the feeling that he's strategically using lesser deserving fighters' names to make other fighters (namely Khan) more attractive; kinda like how he used Alexander's name to elevate the clamor for Guerrero.

But not all of them call themselves THE best ever, can pick literally anyone they wish to fight and would be accepted but picks the likes of Ortiz, Maidana and Berto to prove it.

But why are you always jumping on threads where people are proclaiming guys like Pacquiao greater than Mayweather....yet the ones where Mayweather is being claimed the GOAT you don't give the posters stick

    #49 should be Bradley.

People are talking like hell about it, about ten times more than if it were a Thurman or Khan rumour, this is what he wants.

I've heard a rumor that Mayweather and pacquiao signed two fights even though they said they signed only one (for promotional reasons I suppose). And that next year, you'll start to see HBO release a special about Pacquiao's injury- maybe even showing the surgery- to start really saturating the rematch narrative.

But as a big game, neither Thurman nor Khan deserve Floyd as a 50-0. Neither would give him a million PPV buys (Khan would be closest but he'd lose against Thurman), so no.

    No less pointless than:

    Pac vs Rios
    Pac vs Bradley
    Pac vs Algieri
    Cotto vs Rodriguez
Cotto vs Martnez ( belt or not )

Money vs Berto is better than any of these match ups....

    Bradley deserves #49.

For #50, I hope Mayweather goes for another level of greatness and fights someone that is the favorite or even money against him.

    :hey

I don't know if I believe that, although I can see them having made a move on it since May. I can't see Haymon and Arum working together again. But does anyone know how likely it is that Floyd could break away from Haymon after his Showtime contract is finished for a Pacquiao rematch on HBO next year?

Ive decided that even though i dont like floyd , I HATE the thurmans/Brooks/Khan of the world even more , they all talk so much BS about their worth and that they deserve a floyd fight , but instead of PROVING IT in a ring (as they had a year + since we knew floyd going to take Pac) fighthing eachother they go around crying like babies about floyd , those so called young lions and elite fighters wont face each other and fight low level guys non stop.
Thurman vs Brook vs Khan should be done next now that everyone knows that Floyd going to bow out easy with soft touch only and maybe a Pac rematch.
if they WONT go and fight eachother they are wwayyyyyy worst then floyd ever was.
