This kid would dominate the welterweight division if he could get one of these two guys in his corner. He already throws good combination, he is pretty slick defensively, but he needs to fine tune his defensive skills just the way Floyd Sr could do it. I honestly think he could turn Berto into a Guzman type fighter, but with a lot more power and speed. I mean Berto already is fighting more and more with that style, and its evident to me he is too choppy of a mover to ever fight like Floyd or RJJ, but he could definitely become a dangerous counter puncher who likes to fight anywhere in the ring.

Already I believe he will beat anyone in the welterweight division if he has a decent chin, but I also feel his trainers are being greedy and not doing whats best for him. His style is perfect for Floyd Sr to mold.

I think those guys could definitely make him a better fighter, but no trainer is going to make him good enough to dominate such a deep division. The problem is he doesn't have a decent chin. He just has enough speed and power to keep lesser fighters off of him. I can guarantee you cotto, williams, margarito, and maybe even clottey would most likely stop him.

I can't help but think Berto's height is gonna be his downfall if and when he ever fights a tall welter like Williams or Margarito. He's stronger than Floyd, but not as skilled. I agree though, I think Floyd senior or Roger Mayweather could help improve his defense.

Berto is too 'clunky' for me - his movement is pretty average

Berto has all the physical tools save for the chin maybe. I've always felt he needed to be with either of the Mayweathers, perfect fit for Berto. I'm sure it could be done.

    Berto's offense is his defense.

You don't want to make the kid too defensive.

You can't make him go all out like he's used to doing right now, either. He already got his chin checked doing that several fights ago. It's bound to happen again once he steps it up.

I noticed Berto sometimes uses the shoulder roll, but he's doing it all wrong. He gets hit over the top with that right way too often. Roger or Sr. could correct that.
