Berto has always lacked the technical skill to get in the ring with any of those guys. He needs some years and a different coach who can teach him technique and DEFENSE. I'm not surprised by the way he looked this fight; he always fights like that(though there was some ring rust this time).

Cotto vs Berto would be divine. I'd love to see Cotto get that W.

Berto vs. Cotto would be a good test for Berto

Berto ain't that good guys. He is alright, but he needs a better trainer. Berto is a "jumper inner", and his feet are way too far apart. If he wants to get to the "next level" he needs some work. He is nice kid and all, but a real top fighter will hand him his ass.

Meh, cut the guy some slack. The guy comes off a nearly 1 year layoff, suffered a major personal and family tragedy, and convincingly dominates a game, slick southpaw with wins over Julio and PW and everyone is just pissing on his performance.

Quintana is a good addition to any1's resume.

What is probably the most Hilarious about this thread...is all the people saying the Berto is not on the Level of Pac, Floyd or SHANE. Notice how everyone has no problem with calling Shane a TOP-SHELF, ELITE-LEVEL fighter, which he is. But I guarantee you...that If Floyd beats Shane convincingly...these same MUTHA'FUKAS will be the first set of Bitches creating threads calling Shane "Past his prime", "Too Old" and "Shot!!!"

The Hypocrisy of ESB Posters is JUST DOWN-RIGHT HILARIOUS!!!

Yeah kind of similar to how a lot of Floyd fans said Shane was "Too Old", "Shot", "past his prime" when Cotto beat Shane by close but clear decision.:yep

I have to agree with that
he's not too bad to watch, but I just dont think he is the type of fighter to get to the top of the pile and stay there fore a protracted amount of time
and yeah, I thought he was gonna pull a hopkins last night

    huh?
Shane is a top rate fighter, but anytime a fighter is as old or older than him, lets say past 35 years of age; whoever beats them is going to have to deal with criticism about beating an old shot fighter. Its just the nature of boxing. For instance, if pavlik would have beaten hopkins, people would have said he beat an old hopkins.

You guys make it sound like not being able to beat Floyd, Shane, or Pac a bad thing... those are 3 of the best fighters of the last decade.

It's like a guy has to be P4P top 5 or he's **** on ESB.

Maybe you're right about "some" Floyd fans saying that, (I don't recall) however, I try to weed out certain Floyd Fans. Personally, I have always thought (as good as Shane is) that he was losing his edge back in '06 when he looked Awful vs Vargas 1, then in '07 average vs Collazo and Cotto, GOD-AWFUL vs Mayorga. The only reason why people are kissing Shane's ass again is because he beat Margarito CONVINCINGLY. Cotto could have done the same thing if he didn't gas-out after 5 rounds.

The Shane victory over Margarito is "Fool's Gold". Margarito wouldn't know defense if it came to his home speaking Spanish. And Margarito's "Get Hit" style of "Take 5 punches just to land 3" was taylor-made for a Shane Victory. Yet it does not mean that Shane is all of a sudden back to the "Ol' School" form.
We all know Shane gets hit alot and makes a ton of mistakes...we all know where this fight is going:vonnecunt.

Yo Benny, Give me your take on how that Pavlik/Martinez is gonna go. You can PM me. I don't wanna divert this guys thread. Personally...I see a Lop-sided win by Martinez, maybe even a Stoppage!!!

I agree...Everyone is Basis Berto potential based off his last 3 fights against 3 RANKED (two for Belt Holders) all southpaws and all fights he won. No-one was saying he Looked awful against Orthodox Fighters. Trust me...It would be Shane Mosley all over again if Berto Fought Margarito. Also, I would love to see Berto fight the guy Bradley just canceled with...Undefeated 29-0 Luis Carlos Abregu.
