now there are 4 men in the picture and the winners can face each other...Berto was the odd man out IMO...Mayweather, Pacquiao, Mosley, & Clottey are the 4 best welterweights in the world...Clottey is every bit as dangerous as Mosley...he beat Miguel Cotto...watched the fight twice...he had Cotto retreated...granted, Cotto had a huge cut and probably deserved the W by fighting hard with it...Clottey will also be the STRONGEST fighter Pac has ever faced...its a good set up to the Pac/May fight...Mosley deserves this shot at Mayweather too.

    Pac KO Clottey late

    Mayweather UD Shane

    Mayweather UD Pac

Not for me. I was really looking forward to that fight. I might be in the minority.. but I am not sold on Shane being so top notch right now. I really wanted to see Berto vs Mosley to see where he was at. He had a GREAT performance over Margo, and obviously isn't shot or anything, but I don't think that he is where a lot of people seem to put him.

I wanted to see Mosely knock Berto out, but no fight.

Yep...in retrospect, we might all look at Berto's withdrawal as a blessing...

nah Berto has plenty of time to come back...Shane needs to fight Mayweather NOW...he's 38 years old...he wouldn't have walked through Berto and it would have taken a lot out of him I think...Shane has been training hard for Berto now he can take it out on Floyd

clottey was a careful pick from a smart trainer in freddy roach, clottey is a slow plodder who is strong but doesnt have dynamic 1 punch ko power by any means, he is tough but not very mobile and doesnt throw a lot of punch this should be an easy fight for pac, mayweather is definately taking on a far more dangerous challenge in mosley, and should be given credit for that.

No disrespect to Clottey, but why would he be in there instead of Berto?

I see 2 ways on why berto pulled-out of his fight with shane.

1.Maybe team floyd or GBP paid money for berto to pull out in his fight with shane in order to stage floyd-shane as their answer to arum's staging pac-clottey. It's very possible. That is if floyd really intends to fight shane.

2.Berto indeed pulled-out due to haiti tragedy. If this is the scenario, floyd is now cornered and had no choice but to fight shane. shane's team has already signified that they will accept the testing that floyd demanded from pac. If floyd doesn't really intends to fight shane, they're now scratching their heads.

Berto lost 8 relatives in the Haiti tragedy. Based on what he has done for that country in the past, we know that he is in touch with his roots in Haiti and is definitely grieving for what happened to his relatives and his country. I don't see any other reason why he would pull out of this fight. He is a true citizen of that country unlike the pseudo-Mexican Oscar :D

SSM is a comparable risk to Floyd fighting Pac with a loss less cash. Given Floyd's aversion to risk and love of high paydays, he must be smacking his head that the Pac fight didn't happen.

100's of thousands, dead, injured, maimed, orphaned, homeless, starving....... That "blessing" sure has one hell of a disguise.

Hell no...how was a great match-up not happening a blessing in disguise? You have a great match-up replaced by a potential snoozer.

Great for boxing? You must be joking!!
